iBond Etch 35: Fluid - 15ml
iBond Etch 35 Fluid from Kulzer is a dental etching agent based on 35% orthophosphoric acid.
iBond Etch Gel and Fluid are used to etch enamel and condition dentine in the context of adhesive filling therapy.
iBond Etch 35 Benefits
- Accurate and convenient application.
- Coloured for easy identification – Blue Gel or Rose Fluid.
- Available in different consistencies for individual applications.
iBond Etch 35 Indications
iBond Etch Gel or Fluid is used for enamel etching and enamel/dentine etching using the total etch technique prior to the adhesive bonding of:
- Composite and compomer restorations.
- Laboratory-fabricated, indirect restorations (e.g., inlays, crowns, bridges, veneers).
- Sealants.
iBond Etch 35 Application
Prior to treatment, carefully clean tooth with fluoride-free polishing paste. The use of a rubber dam is recommended. After preparation in accordance with adhesive filling therapy, rinse the cavity and dry with oil-free air.
1st step
Starting from the bevelled enamel areas, apply iBond Etch to the entire cavity surface, including the dentine.
Ensure that the enamel is etched for at least 20 sec and no more than 30 sec, and that the dentine is conditioned for at least 15 sec and no more than 20 sec.
When using pay special attention to complying with the dwell time on the dentine. Reducing the time to 15 sec in these areas is permissible to avoid overetching.
If desired, only apply iBond Etch to the enamel and let set for a maximum of 30 sec.
Etch unprepared enamel, e.g. in case of fissure sealing, for at least 30 sec and no more than 60 sec.
In case of fluoridated enamel, etching for no more than 60 sec may also be required.
Caution: In case of deep cavities, Kulzer recommend covering the dentine near the pulp with a calcium hydroxide preparation and a base (e.g. glass ionomer cement) prior to etching.
2nd step
Use a water sprayer to completely rinse off iBond Etch for 20 sec.
The cavity must be completely free of any remnants.
3rd step
Dry the cavity with oil-free air (do not dry out dentine!). The etched enamel surface should appear chalky white.
In case of contamination of the tooth surface (e.g. with saliva), the etching must be repeated (for a maximum of 10 sec dwell time).
