Inadine Dressing: Non Adherent Sterile Dressing 9.5 x 9.5cm (10)

Inadine Dressings from Systagenix are non adherent sterile dressings for ulcerative wound dressing and are made of a low adherent knitted viscose fabric impregnated with a polyethylene glycol (PEG) base containing 10% Povidone Iodine; equivalent to 1.0% available iodine in order to help encourage antimicrobial healing.

Iodine is a proven topical antimicrobial and is known for its broad-spectrum effectiveness in combating a variety of pathogens. This versatile ingredient not only promotes healing but also helps prevent infections, making it an essential addition to any first-aid kit.

What are Inadine Dressings used for?

Inadine Dressings are used for the treatment and prevention of infection in minor wounds, ulcers, and burns. These iodine-based dressings provide an antimicrobial barrier, reducing the risk of infection while promoting healing. The non-adherent design ensures easy removal without causing pain or trauma to the wound. Ideal for chronic ulcers, pressure sores, and minor cuts, Inadine dressings are suitable for a range of wound care applications.

How do you apply Inadine Dressings?

  1. Clean the wound: Before applying the Inadine Non-Adherent Sterile Dressing, gently clean the wound or ulcer to remove any debris or bacteria.
  2. Open the sterile packaging: Carefully open the Inadine dressing packet to maintain sterility. The expiry date is printed on the packaging.
  3. Apply the dressing: Place the Inadine dressing directly onto the wound, ensuring full coverage of the affected area.
  4. Secure the dressing: Use a secondary dressing or bandage to hold the Inadine dressing in place.
  5. Monitor and change: Replace the dressing as advised or when it becomes saturated, ensuring optimal wound healing.

Inadine Dressing Indications

Inadine dressings are suitable for treating:

  • Ulcers
  • Wounds
  • Burns
  • Minor Cuts

How long should Inadine be used on a wound?

When dressing heavily exuding wounds the Inadine dressing may need changing on a daily basis but with wounds that are relatively dry the intervals between changes can be extended. Inadine dressings are unlikely to retain significant levels of antimicrobial activity if left longer than two days. No more than four dressings should be applied at one time.
