Biodentine - Pack of 15
Biodentine: The first all-in-one, biocompatible and bioactive material to use wherever dentine is damaged.
Biodentine™ is a dentine substitute based on unique Active Biosilicate Technology™ designed to treat damaged dentine both for restorative and endodontic indications.
Thanks to its Tricalcium Silicate core, Biodentine™ is a fully biocompatible mineral material minimising any risk of tissue response and is also a bioactive material promoting reactionary dentine genesis for pulp vitality preservation.
Biodentine Features & Benefits
Thanks to the patented Active Biosilicate Technology ensuring a high purity of tricalcium silicate, Biodentine offers unique features:
- Bioactivity: Biodentine preserves pulp vitality and can be placed directly on the pulp. Thanks to the formation of hydroxyapatite, mineralization process, Biodentine creates a tight seal within the dentine tubules as well as dentinal bridge.
- Biocompatibility: Biodentine can be placed directly on the pulp and living tissues, ensuring no risk of tissue/pulp reaction, thanks to the high purity of tricalcium silicate and the resin-free formula.
- Sealing ability: Biodentine can replace the dentine both in the crown and in the root and reduces the risk of secondary caries, thanks to the creation of mineral tags in the dentine tubules.
- Dentin-like properties: Biodentine has the same mechanical properties than dentin and similar mechanical behaviour than dentine.
- Limitation of bacterial growth: The alkaline pH limits bacterial growth, helping to decrease post-operative pain and reducing the risk of secondary decays.
Biodentine For Deep Caries Management
Biodentine™ needs no surface conditioning, no bonding and exhibits excellent sealing properties to reduce the risk of clinical failures through bacterial percolation, thus ensuring the absence of post-operative sensitivity.
The mechanical properties of Biodentine™ supersede those of mineral trioxide aggregate and glass ionomer cements making it suitable for endodontic repair and restorative procedures.
Biodentine™ can safely be used in the crown as a bulk restorative material in direct and indirect pulp cappings, pulpotomies or deep cavities and as a temporary enamel restoration. The final aesthetic restoration is then performed using a composite.
Biodentine™ can also be used in the root for endodontic repair procedures such as perforations, internal/external resorptions, apexification and retrograde surgical filling.
Total working time from mixing to setting is 12 minutes.
Biodentine Indications
- In the crown: enamel restoration (within 6 months), permanent dentine restoration, deep or large carious lesions, deep cervical or radicular lesions, pulp capping, pulpotomy.
- In the root: root and furcation perforations, internal/external resorptions, apexification, retrograde surgical filling.
- Reverse irreversible pulpitis
